If I had a hammer

DENSO Manufacturing Michigan (DMMI) - DMMI associates, friends and family members had plenty of hammers, saws, shovels and paint brushes on Nov. 17, as they joined other area residents to finish three new Habitat for Humanity homes in Battle Creek, Mich.

They pitched in to paint porch rails, dig post holes for porch steps, and put up vinyl siding and dry wall, so the new home owners could move in by Christmas.

Jim Burkheimer, superintendant of Corporate Services, said,"I enjoyed doing a kind of work that's very different from what I do during the week.It was great to meet the families who will be moving into their new houses."

Since its inception in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has built more than 100,000 homes in 80 countries, 30,000 of those in the United States. Its goal is to provide simple, decent, affordable housing in partnership with those in need of adequate shelter.
