Helping students succeed

ASMO Greenville of North Carolina (GNC) - Recognizing that education is the cornerstone to a successful life, GNC established the Educational Scholarship Program to assist associates' children who plan to attend college. This scholarship is available to any student who has demonstrated excellence in academics, leadership, school and community activities, and future goal setting.

"We know that the cost of a college education can be tremendous, and we want deserving students to have every opportunity to pursue an education," said GNC President Isamu Tada."So we established this Educational Scholarship Program to help our associates' children fulfill their dreams of a college degree."

Two $1,000 scholarships are awarded to students who are selected by a committee from the Pitt County Educational Foundation. The scholarships can be used at any accredited community, junior or four-year college.

The first recipients of the scholarships were Cassandra Battle, daughter of Renelda Battle, assembler in the Washer Department, and Thomas Brooks, son of Pat Brooks, team leader in Quality Control.
