MACI keeps going and growing

Michigan Automotive Compressor, Inc. (MACI) - MACI isn’t letting a sluggish economy slow them down—they recently began a $19.7 million expansion to help them meet the changing needs of their customers.

MACI’s expansion will add a new stator line, new equipment and a third die-cast furnace and finishing machines to produce a new aluminum alloy.

Other changes consist of increasing overall capacity in the compressor machining area as well as press area modifications including a shot blast machine, dies and modifications, and clutch assembly line automation to strengthen quality control.

The work should wrap up in 2003.
