Convention in Canada

DENSO North America—Thirteen quality circle teams from North American DENSO companies, joint ventures and affiliates ,were chosen by their companies to compete in the 11th annual National Quality Circle Convention in September.

The teams of associates traveled to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada, site of the North American competition, where they gave a formal presentation on their improvement projects to a panel of judges. The judges made their recommendations to Tony Takeuchi, chair and CEO of the NAQCC host company, DENSO International America, and Takeuchi selected the NAQCC team winners.

Winning the Benchmark Circle Award was the team “Production Pleasers” from DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee.

The President’s Circle Award was given to DENSO Manufacturing Mexico’s team “Poder Kaizen.” (The Spanish word “poder” means power.)

And winning the Cross-Functional Team Award was “Kaizen Cap’tins” from DENSO Manufacturing Michigan.

Winners of the Benchmark and President’s awards will attend the DENSO Corporation (DNJP) Quality Circle Convention, held at DNJP in Kariya City, Japan.
