The coolest animals in town
This snow leopard is now one cool cat, thanks to MovinCool®’s donation of portable air conditioners to some of the nation’s leading zoos. This endangered big cat can now live in comfort at the Louisville zoo.

The unBEARably hot days of summer are tough on some animals. Although many zoo animals enjoy basking in the sun on a warm day, several zoos are helping their animals “chill out” in summer.

MovinCool® portable air conditioners help animals "keep cool"

MovinCool®, one of the nation’s leading portable air conditioner manufacturers, has donated portable air conditioners to several zoos across the country. The most recent donation includes four portable air conditioners to Central Park Zoo in New York, making their polar bears and animals in the Children’s Zoo the “coolest” animals in town.

“The polar bears at Central Park Zoo have it made,” said John Rowden, mammal curator at Central Park Zoo. “Not only do they have access to a 90,000-gallon swimming pool, misters and an icemaker that constantly provides piles of ice, they now have these powerful, portable air conditioners. They even help the zoo visitors cool off too!”

MovinCool® portable air conditioners are designed to be simply rolled in, plugged in and turned on at a moment’s notice without the hassle of installation or the need for windows, which makes them a convenient cooling solution for venues like the zoo.

MovinCool® has also donated units to zoos in Louisville, Atlanta, Cleveland and Denver. At Zoo Atlanta, MovinCool® and local distributor, Topp Portable Air, teamed up to install three Classic Plus 14 units in their Reptile House exhibit. The units are keeping African penguins and a pregnant red panda comfortable in Denver and Cleveland, respectively, while in Louisville, snow leopards are keeping cool.

“MovinCool® has been cooling people and equipment in extreme environments for more than 20 years,” said MovinCool Doran. “It is very rewarding for us to extend this technology to help cool these animals.”

MovinCool® portable spot cooling solutions offer more units, more power, more protection and more affordability. MovinCool higher cooling capacities than most portable air conditioners, generating up to 60,000 BTU/h. The MovinCool offers details about which units are compatible with various back-up
generators and specifies voltage requirements.

MovinCool® is a brand of DENSO. The company pioneered the idea of portable cooling systems to meet its own automotive factory needs in Japan. Since then, MovinCool designed to address the needs of offices and computer rooms.
