One of the most
elegant shopping centers in the world, Vittorio Emanuele
Arcade, in Milan, was the first structure ever built
in Italy to use glass and iron for structural purposes.
The arcade is a place where people go to enjoy a caffé,
go to the theatre, or do some window-shopping.

Many people believe that Milan is the
Italy of yesterday and today because it combines the
best of the country’s rich history, art and culture,
as well as Italy’s business, design, fashion,
publishing, and contemporary music. There is an old
saying that claims that there is a bank in Milan for
every church in Rome.
Milan is also home to DENSO Sales Italy,
S.r.l. DENSO’s DSIT office is comprised of 14
associates and was founded in October, 1989. DSIT recently
changed the location of its office from the center
of Milan, very close to Duomo Cathedral, the largest
Gothic church in Italy, to a new office in a very nice
and old area of Milan, near the Naviglio River. The
building at this new location has been completely renewed
and is part of a “new Milan business pole”
where many big companies are relocating.
The 14 associates are responsible for
the sale of alternators, starters, wires and anything
that will expand their business. The sale of these products
generates a total sale of U.S. $30 million.

DENSO Sales UK
head office in Hatfield
Hatfield, located in Hertfordshire, England, is home
to DENSO Sales UK Ltd. Originally established in Essex
in 1984, the office was moved to Hatfield in 1993,
and a Test Laboratory was opened in Coventry.
Hatfield is a small town, approximately 15 miles north
of Central London. It has great access to major roads
leading to London, yet it is surrounded by friendly
green space, fresh air and the lovely Hertfordshire
countryside.
The town was well known in the past for its connection
with British Aerospace and the building of the Mosquito,
Comet and Trident aircraft. In fact, when DSUK moved
to Hatfield in 1993, the local airstrip was still in
operation. However, Hatfield is currently attracting
a variety of new businesses.
Hatfield Head Office is 80 miles south of Coventry
where the Development Engineering facility is housed
in two buildings that are approximately 100 yards apart.
One building is home to the Air Conditioning Systems,
Intelligent Transport Systems and Service & QA Departments;
the other is the base for Engine Management Systems.
The two sites work very closely together- the Sales
teams at Hatfield often visit for discussions with
the engineers at Coventry, and the main administrative
support for both sites is based in Hatfield.
There are currently 180 associates on staff, 80 at
Hatfield and 100 at Coventry. DSUK handles business
with the UK vehicle manufacturers for Ford, Jaguar,
MG Rover, LandRover and Honda as well as some of the
smaller manufacturing companies.

Home to the 6th
Marquess of Salisbury, the Hatfield House & Gardens
was built in 1611. The Jacobean style mansion is surrounded
by 4,000 acres of parkland. It was here that the young
Princess Elizabeth learned of her accession to the throne
after the death of her sister, Mary Tudor.

| DENSO Marston Ltd.
(DNMN)

A group of DENSO
Marston LTD. associates participate in a Quality Circle.
In 1989, DENSO purchased a company
in Shipley, West Yorkshire named IMiradiators Limited.
The company was founded in 1904, and manufactured automotive
radiators. In 1989, the company was given the name DENSO
Marston, Ltd. (DNMN), and employed 887 associates. Now,
14 years later, DNMN employs 900 associates and continues
to produce cooling systems for the car, truck and tractor
markets.
There is no doubt about DNMN’s
commitment to the community and to the environment.
When DNMN extended its factory for the production of
car radiators on land in 1991, the Company also made
the decision to create a wildlife park. This park was
given the name DENSO Marston Wildlife Park. A three-hectare
strip of land that runs between the new factory extension
and the River Aire, which had previously been designated
wash-land by the Environment Agency, and had been used
for grazing, was designated for the park.
Preparation for the park began in September
1991 and was completed in the spring of 1993. The community
involvement was one of the major factors in developing
the park. Members of the community and approximately
360 children from local schools joined the effort.
DNMN is very involved in local schools,
work placement and even holds interview days. It also
supports small fundraising activities in the local community.

Beginning
in 1804, the Rochdale Canal allowed for the
transportation of bulk goods, such as coal,
chemicals, cotton, etc. Road and rail eventually
took business away. In 2002, the canal was
reopened for navigation after a restoration
project.
