GUELPH, Ontario— Three million hours adds up to an impressive amount of time—when you’re talking about a safety record. DENSO Manufacturing Canada, Inc. (DMCN) was honored for its 3 million hours with no lost time injuries and for its effective health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.

The Industrial Accident Prevention Association (IAPA) gave DMCN the Level I Achievement Award.

To receive this award, a participating company must have zero critical injuries, fatalities, charges or convictions under the Occupational Health and Safety Act or Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and demonstrate that its prevention methods meet specifi c requirements, including how hazards are assessed and controlled.

“We are very proud of this achievement,” said Ken Nagao, DMCN president. “DENSO Manufacturing Canada has always deemed safety as its number one priority and is committed to ensure the health and safety of its employees through creativity and positive thinking. We take measures to ensure that every duty within our operation is done in a safe manner at all times.”

DMCN has been achieving no lost time injuries for almost six years since the start of its operation at the Guelph Manufacturing Plant in January 1999.
