DENSO earned 20 Supplier Awards from Toyota Motor Company North America (TMMNA). The awards acknowledge the suppliers who have met or exceeded Toyota’s highest standards in quality, delivery, value improvement for parts, materials and transportation, launch and supplier diversity. The awards were presented at the annual Supplier Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony held in Covington, Ky., in March.

In addition to quality awards, special recognition awards were given for vehicle launch performance. This was the first year Toyota presented Superior and Excellent awards in the area of supplier diversity, recognizing suppliers who put forth outstanding efforts on minority business development.

Suppliers were evaluated by these criteria for quality and delivery:

Superior Award — achieved or exceeded targets typically more than six consecutive years.
Excellent Award — achieved or exceeded targets typically for four to six consecutive years.
Certificate Award — achieved or exceeded targets for one year.
