Michigan Governor Visits Southfield Campus
DENSO International America, Inc. (DIAM) Chairman and CEO Tony Takeuchi, presents a welcoming gift to Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm on her fi rst visit to DIAM.

DENSO International America (DIAM)—
Many DIAM associates were caught off guard when a “Michigan icon” came through the lobby. After visiting DENSO’s exhibit at the Society of Automotive Engineers World Congress, Gov. Jennifer Granholm made her first visit to DIAM headquarters.

The governor met with DENSO executives to learn about the history and operations of DENSO in Michigan as well as to become acquainted with DENSO’s future plans. Chairman and CEO Tony Takeuchi presented the governor with a welcoming gift on behalf of DENSO.

Also present were representatives of the Michigan Department of Economic Development. After a private meeting, the governor toured DIAM’s Technical Center, where she had the opportunity to see DENSO technology first-hand and to speak with associates.

“I was struck by how interested she seemed in everything and how thoughtful her questions were,” said associate Geoff Johnson. “I was proud to show what we do here in the Technical Center.”
