DENSO Manufacturing Canada experiences a hat trick

Working the line

DENSO Manufacturing Canada in Guelph, Ontario, recently announced plans to expand its facilities. By 2010, the expansion will add 215,000 square feet, 300 jobs, and new products including radiators, condensers and electric fans, which will be integrated into engine cooling modules.

DENSO Manufacturing Canada (DMCN)—In the city where the hockey term “hat trick” was coined, DMCN is experiencing its own hat trick. The facility, located in Guelph, Ontario, is preparing for a major expansion, welcoming a new president, and reorganizing as DENSO Sales Canada (DSCN) is now established as a separate company.

Global market demands and sales growth in North America are leading DENSO to expand DMCN’s 112,4442-square-foot facility by about 215,000 square feet. The expansion will create approximately 300 new jobs by 2010, and allow DMCN to produce radiators, condensers and electric fans, and integrate these products into engine cooling modules. DMCN will continue producing air conditioning units.

“This expansion will allow our plant to expand its current capabilities and better serve our Canadian automotive customers,” said Joseph Stich, president of DMCN. “It’s a great opportunity for the dedicated DENSO associates, the community of Guelph, and the province of Ontario. We are looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that the expansion will bring to our facility.”
